Woodshop Project~

Finally, it's summer! sunAnd that means that all of the homework, assignments, tests, and especially projects, are over. One, or two of the big projects that I did this year, were in woodshop. We had to make a chocolate box and an oven squirrel.

The chocolate box is pretty self-explanatory, and you could design the shape yourself. (Don't worry, the top twists open) But the oven squirrel was my favourite. Like the name says, it's used in the oven. No, you don't cook it. bleah But you can use it when you want to pull out or push in the oven racks. You'll see in the picture, that you can pull the racks out with the ears of the squirrel, and push the racks in with its front paws.

Apparently, (I think it was from the First nations or something) when a family that is new to the place/neighbourhood, and they are given one, it is placed on the windowsill to symbolize that they have been welcomed to the community.
